John Iversen

John Iversen received the B.A. in biophysics from Harvard University, the M.Phil. in history and philosophy of science from Cambridge University and the Ph.D. in speech and hearing science from MIT in 1990, 1991 and 2001 respectively. After 12 years as a Research Fellow at the Neurosciences Institute, La Jolla, CA, he is currently a Research Scientist in the Institute for Neural Computation at The University of California San Diego, USA. His research studies the neural mechanisms of auditory temporal perception in music and language, comparative rhythm perception, and the impact of music training on child brain development.
