Dr. Peggy Mason, University of Chicago, USA


Peggy Mason grew up in the Washington DC area and worked in taxidermy at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. She went to college and graduate school at Harvard, graduating with a BA in Biology and a PhD in Neuroscience. After postdoctoral work at UCSF, she joined the University of Chicago where she is now Professor of Neurobiology. In the last decade, Dr Mason's research has focused on the biology of empathy and helping behavior. Dr Mason is committed to teaching neurobiology to anyone that will listen and has won several awards for her teaching and mentoring.
